8 times. That’s the number of shoulder dislocations George has experienced in their lifetime. In 2021, George amusingly decided to commemorate their second and hopefully final shoulder surgery by live-broadcasting the video feed from their surgical team’s arthroscopic camera. Hosted offsite from a makeshift TV studio, the livestream also invited viewers to interact with this very up-close and personal spectacle in real-time.

George JM is a writer and interdisciplinary artist based in Philadelphia. They hold a BA from Bennington College with a focus in video and live performance, and they are an active organizer for Philly-based media arts collective Lino Kino.
