About Us

The Center for Medical Humanities and Social Medicine is an intercampus, interdisciplinary initiative at Johns Hopkins University to produce new teaching, scholarship, and outreach work that brings insights from the medical humanities and social sciences into undergraduate, graduate, and medical education, as well as policy arenas with local, national, and global impact.

The Center is a bridge between campuses at Johns Hopkins University that (1) builds infrastructure for faculty collaboration, (2) establishes interdisciplinary training opportunities for undergraduates, graduate students, and medical students, and (3) facilitates cross-campus collaborations to create impact for ongoing research.
