David Shih Wu, MD, is Director of Palliative Care at Johns Hopkins Bayview and Assistant Professor in the Division of General Internal Medicine. After graduating from Yale with a B.A. in English, he completed medical training at Baylor College of Medicine, followed by Internal Medicine residency and Palliative Care fellowship at the University of Washington. Passionate about the power of stories, he is developing a curriculum to teach a narrative approach to goals of care conversations, with the aim of dissemination to a broad inter-professional audience. He is developing a dynamic academic Palliative Care program, one which prioritizes artful clinical skills, mentorship, and a culture of thriving. In addition to research, he has published multiple reflective essays in JAMA and other journals.
